Beast
Which beast fits your budget, which skills to run, and how to think about beast talents.
Which beast?
Every beast has different skills, and which one is best is a debated topic. It mostly comes down to budget.
Low spend Panda
Low spenders stay with Panda and focus on other parts of the beast.
Mid spend Dragon
Most mid spenders go for Dragon.
High spend Phoenix / Pegasus
Some say Phoenix for team play, others Pegasus for solo play. Both are more expensive to build.
Beast skills
- Each beast has its own skills on the left side of the menu. Phoenix has a 3rd skill on the left, but it can only be upgraded by spending.
- The right-side skill slots open at beast levels 10, 15, 20 and 25.

What to equip
- For Fiend or Demon Invasion, HP or Force Expansion work well.
- Later, when you're fighting more players, defend against Mage (Resist Magic), defend against Archer (Steel Skin), attack Cavalry (Anti-Cavalry) and attack Infantry (Anti-Infantry) become more important.

Recommended skill levels at each spending level are on the Goals page.
Beast XP
You can buy Beast XP from the ship merchant: about 1,000 XP for 90 gems. There's no need to buy packs. If you are a spender, your money probably does more elsewhere: Beast Talent is a better buy than Beast XP. Of course, if you can afford it, go for it.
Anubis Tower's shops (levels 5, 10 and 14) also sell XP pills. See Anubis Tower.
Beast talents
The talent tree is different for each beast. WAOTools has a section for it: enter your max beast talent to see the best path.
- Pegasus: the milestone is Spirit Flood, which increases damage against the enemy frontline and is one of the cheapest damage talents once you reach it. It costs 37,545 talent points to get there. On the way, pick Damage Increased While Attacking (DIWA) or Strength Combo.
- Phoenix: Angel Rebirth, which increases angel damage.
With lower beast talent there are two schools of thought: backline damage, or damage that applies to all troop types. There's no one answer that fits everyone. A build for fighting a mage player doesn't work the same against an archer player, and builds for Fiend, Abyss and so on are different again. Even a health-conversion talent is good, so your beast doesn't die as quickly.
