Force Artifacts

Not everyone can spend in game, but the weekly orange fragment pack ($1.99 USD for 2 pieces) is probably one you can fit into your budget. After the monthly AZ card, it's the next thing for a low spender to buy. Save the fragments for later.

Conjure shop

  • Always check the Conjure shop. You get 3 normal conjures a day, which give Purple Crystal (Soulstone).
  • Claim the Normal Conjure chests for more Purple Soulstone.
  • The shop has a number of free refreshes each day. Watch for when refreshing switches from free to costing gems.

Sometimes you get lucky: Athena (or another orange artifact) shows up for Purple Soulstone.

If you're not buying orange fragments with W-coin, it may be better to buy purple artifact fragments and level those faster. It depends on your luck and how many fragments you already have.

Orange artifacts

Getting orange artifacts takes time and money. In order of priority:

  1. Apollo's Bow: a must-have whatever your class. Get it to 3 stars and make it red.
  2. Excalibur: it's free from Monster Swarm. Just don't spend exchangeable orange fragments on it.
  3. Athena: at 3 stars it has a very good special skill.

Athena's Guardian Shield: for 1 hour, melee troops get a shield at the start of each battle.

Activate artifact skills from the quick-skill buttons on your lord icon:

If you're rich, depending on your build, look at Mjolnir, Heavenly Spear, Brionac, Laevateinn and Caledfwlch.

Why Apollo's Bow?

Its stats look like they're for archer players, but its skill activates passively in any battle, attack or defense, with no active time and no cooldown.

Apollo's Bow. Brute Force: a 7% chance of a power strike dealing 1.5× damage.

Compare that with the alternatives:

  • Brionac's skill only fires on attack, so it's useless on defense. After you take a Star Mine, for example, you're defending when others attack, and the skill won't trigger. The same goes for holding a node or tower in cross-realm events.
  • Caledfwlch has the same problem and is much harder to get. Worse, after its stun ends, enemy troops retarget your backline instead of your frontline.
  • Athena is limited to 1 hour of use with a 2-day cooldown.
  • Excalibur's skill only affects one selected castle, so it's no good in Elite War.

With its 3-star stats and a skill that's always on, Apollo's Bow is the most appealing of them.

Crown Artifacts

Besides Force Artifacts, there are Crown Artifacts. Getting them to 3 stars also unlocks a special skill.

  • There's no pick-what-you-want weekly sale for crowns like there is for Force Artifacts. If you're aiming for one, watch the Daily and Limited sales.
  • The usual sale is 2 pieces for $2.99 USD.
  • Limited Sale has added crowns to its cycle, so keep an eye on prices.
